Elizabeth is our Sales Enquiry member 0408 506 283

Now in our fifth year of business, our group currently includes twenty two expressive artists.  A mix of professionals, mid career and emerging artists.  Some have been teachers, some side-line enthusiasts but some are new to the joy of making art.  Moreover, many have discovered their true calling after years of informal dabbling and certainly others have always been on the art road, taking the unpredictable journey where it leads.

You can learn more about each of them on their individual Artist Pages.  They include the artists’ contact details for any items of interest.

Elizabeth can arrange payment (including layby) and postage, or set aside artworks that you may collect at a later date.  In short, she is ready to help you buy something beautiful.

Our 2D and 3D works come together in the front window to tell a different story each month.

Changing themes invigorates the artists to explore new ideas in their chosen medium, surprises our regular visitors and leaves a memorable impact on travellers to our area.

Sometimes we enjoy a broad theme, other times we link to our town, or we challenge the artists with strong parameters. Our Themes and Events page can be viewed to enjoy a glimpse of past themes.

The current theme is SIX SIDED STORIES

As residents of the beautiful area of the Macedon Ranges, we take inspiration from our ever changing landscape. From vibrantly coloured foliage, rolling hills and verdant valleys to the native species of wild flora and fauna that abounds. We love it all.

Paintings, etchings, photographs and ceramics feature the details. Magnets, luggage tags and little baskets woven from local daffodil leaves may evoke memories of a visit. Turned timber candleholders created from the very trees that once lived here will remind you of the beauty.

And if you are a local wishing to improve the close-to-home feeling, we can help you out. Firstly, you could enquire about customising what you see into a series. Secondly, you could request a change of size or frame. Or thirdly, commission a work that includes your own favourite vista or details. To sum up, the artists are all willing to discuss options to adorn your home with local imagery.

The Art on Piper Guest Artist Room is primarily a space to feature artists from further afield. Occasionally the members fill the space, working to an interesting theme, producing a variety of styles.

The current theme is BLACK and WHITE MEETS CIRCLES (with a little red).

The light filled space is also an excellent start-out opportunity. Either way, it may suit yourself or people you know.

The private space creates an intimate zone for deep contemplation with the exhibitor’s thoughts and motivations. As a consequence, there have been many successful exhibitions over the years.

For example, art students have presented their investigated series. Likewise, professionals have tested the regional waters. Similarly, retirees have fulfilled a life long desire to have a show. And in the same vein, hobbyists have sought public feedback on retail viability.

Exhibitions last for a month. However, the chance to sculpt an experience focussed around your body-of-work could continue into a second month by arrangement. We are taking bookings for the end of 2022, and are certainly happy to discuss the potential for this space to highlight your talent.

Relevant details and the months available are on our Guest Artist Room page.  You may also enjoy seeing how others have interpreted the space on our Past Guest Artists page. And most importantly, we recommend a personal visit to check the atmosphere out for yourself.

Pick up a Mystery Art Walk map

The art gallery in Kyneton has developed a novel way for visitors to explore local streets for the purpose of enjoying an art-finding adventure.

The Mystery Art Trail features 14 illustrated tiles in hidden and obvious places.  They are found on two 25 minute walks between Art on Piper and The Old Auction House galleries.  See where Ned Kelly was charged.  A contemplative labyrinth. Our beautiful heritage buildings. Library, cafes and other places of interest.

Pick up a map near the front door of the art gallery in Kyneton, at 44 Piper St, opposite St Paul’s Park.

Or print your own from our Mystery Art Trail page.

Count the total of people drawn in the tiles while you are walking. As a result, we will reward you with a hand painted gift card by Elizabeth Darling, if you are correct. And to clarify, the walk is easy and all abilities, with seats and toilets dotted along the way.

New member enquiries are welcome, for local creatives who wish to be a part of a thriving and motivated community.

Above all, we strive to offer visitors a wide variety of high quality art products without duplication. Therefore, we consider ourselves at capacity for jewellery, textiles and bird images.
