Marian’s main preoccupation as an artist is with abstraction and the exploration of mixed media materials. She enjoys variety in her work, using acrylics, collage, inks, watercolour and pastel.
With a working method that is essentially free and intuitive, going with the flow as it evolves brings Marian the greatest joy.
Recently Marian has added encaustic to her range of media and finds this a most enjoyable and fascinating technique which suits her natural inclination for textural elements. Its organic qualities also lend themselves to references and inspiration from the surrounding landscape and wildlife, which underpin everything she does in her art.
Although Marian is not a member of the Art on Piper cohort, her works are on display to add a high quality addition to the offerings in the gallery.
