Di grew up in Ballarat North, sketch pad in hand, capturing old bluestone tunnels and bridges, buildings and barns, often sketching with a biro.
At Nerrina and Black Hill Lookout Di mixed the colours in clays to make paints to adorn the rocks in the bushland. She encountered a lady painting the beautiful Nerrina Lake in plein air style and vowed to herself that one day she’d be doing this too.
At 21 Di was introduced to oils and later preferred the fume free medium of acrylic paints. She fell in love with, and mastered watercolours and sees more of that medium in her future artworks.
Married for 37 yrs, with a solid rock supportive husband, two children and four grandies, Di also works for NDIS and runs her site Artcreations, selling art Australia wide and overseas.
Di has exhibited all throughout the Hepburn, Mitchell and Ballarat shires, and has painted many public murals in Creswick, where she now lives.
