Origami Artist
Japanese Paper Framed Wall Hangings, Cards, Flowers, Pendants, Earrings
Origami Artist, Chieko Hester grew up in Japan and fondly remembers her fascination and enthusiasm for origami beginning around six years old, when her father taught her to fold a paper crane.
Whilst the origami pieces are based on tradition, she is influenced by the desire to combine both Eastern and Western design aesthetics.
Wearable origami earrings and pendants are protected by a sealer for longevity of the beautiful Japanese papers Chieko collects on her occasional trips back to the manufacturers.
Framed art pieces have a story telling quality, and many are accompanied by explanations of the traditional meanings.
Cards depict many styles of composition in various colours.
