Ceramic artist Shari Mitchel has been a Macedon Ranges resident since 2005. She has been actively engaged in pottery for the last 13 years.
“What started out as a hobby to create some ‘me’ time, has now turned into a creative passion. I love sharing ideas and teach pottery in the region.
With a professional background in engineering, I have enjoyed exploring my creative side. I draw upon my childhood memories of my grandmothers teaching me their crafting techniques. More recently, I’ve employed ‘out of the box’ thinking in creating many new pieces.
Constant work on new styles and techniques has resulted in a continued challenging of myself. Many of my pieces carry with them a special story or meaning. This has led to many of my creations being commissioned pieces.”
