Paula grew up watching her grandmother and mother sewing…
She made her own clothes – selecting fabrics on Saturday mornings and wearing the outfit later the same day. After having her daughter she worked with a friend finishing off baby bibs for Harrods and other stores.
In the 1980’s she completed a City and Guilds four year course in Creative Embroidery under the tutelage of internationally renown Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn. Paula then worked at Berkshire College of Art and Design helping students with their creative projects.
Upon coming to Australia in 1990 she worked in the buying office of one of Perth’s major department stores and after relocating to Melbourne she joined a patchwork group to meet new people – and the machine and needles have been working ever since!
