Margaret Sweep

Ever since she was a young girl, Margaret has enjoyed drawing and painting wildlife and her favourite subject at school was art.

Growing up and living in Ferntree Gully provided a life surrounded by National Parks, where there was always plenty of wildlife subjects to paint and draw.

Now living in the Macedon Ranges on a large bush property with her own studio, Margaret enjoys plenty of wildlife on the door step, every day.

A fully self-taught artist, with no formal training, and having a natural ability in drawing, Margaret has watched and learned different painting techniques from the various art groups she has attended over the years.  Acrylic paint and pastels are preferred, enjoying the flexibility of these mediums.

Many awards have been won for works exhibited in Australia and overseas and Margaret often sells at local art shows.  At Art on Piper, her unique gallery items include paintings on slate and rocks, printed cards and small framed works.
