Marianne’s love of glass began as a child when she received a glass paperweight as a gift. However it wasn’t until many years later that I attended glass fusing classes in Melbourne followed by lampworking classes (making glass beads over an extremely hot flame).
Shortly after these classes, Marianne purchased a kiln and other necessary lampworking and fusing equipment enabling me to set up a small home based studio. Thus began a love of working with warm glass. Since then I have begun to explore the many endless possibilities that warm glass offers, trying new techniques, attending workshops and generally having fun playing with glass.
Recently Marianne has been dabbling with acrylic pour paintings – choosing a colour palette and watching as the paint expands over the canvas to create beautiful effects.
