The interaction of people with each other and their environment is the constant that weaves throughout Chris’ works. She always challenges herself to combine different mediums and techniques, yet staying mindful of the permanency of the artwork.
Beginning with oil painting in 1980, Chris quickly realised she needed a further exploration as something was missing with this medium alone.
After attending a CAE sculpture and printmaking course, then completing a BA in Fine Arts at Monash Uni in 1989, while continuing her nursing career, she discovered an acrylic medium that acted like oils, allowing the unique collaged technique to become her signature style.
While not a member of Art on Piper, her works contribute a valued variety to the gallery offerings, moving around where space permits.
